What to Expect When You Visit
We meet at 12101 Linden-Linthicum Lane, Clarksville, MD. We’re on route 108 between the River Hill Garden Center and River Hill Village Center. Turn onto Linden-Linthicum Lane and you’ll see the entrance to our church.
And we’re saving a seat for you!
We worship on Sundays at 10:00 AM. The experts will say that our worship style is “traditional,” but we certainly aren’t stuffy. Our worship is vibrant using music both old and new and with sermons that challenge us in our everyday lives. Most of the people you meet when you visit us will be nice and friendly. But you need to know, before you come, that we’re a bunch of broken messes. We’re a community of people who don’t have it all together, but are discovering what it means to find life in Christ, in a challenging modern world.
We care about you, not what you’re wearing. We don’t care who you’re voting for in the next election or how many tattoos and piercings you have. We’re a church full of imperfect, broken people who are coming to know Jesus and serving others together, and regardless of your story, we believe you belong!
If you’ve never been and you’re considering coming, here’s what you should expect…
- Nice people. We LOVE it when someone comes for the first time. We try very hard, but we don’t always recognize the first-time visitors, so feel free to say, “This is my first time” and we’ll guide you in!
- A casual atmosphere. After worship, or between worship services, grab a snack and a hot cup of free coffee or tea. Sit wherever you like during worship. We will NOT single you out publicly or ask you to say anything and we do NOT expect guests to contribute anything financially.
- A fun, safe environment for kids. Kids love LLUMC! Parents have told us they joined the church because their kids love it so much here. Babies and toddlers are cared for by loving staff and volunteers, and all other children worship with us until the children’s sermon is finished, then they have the option of going to Sunday School or simply staying to enjoy worship.
Everybody belongs – every color, every shape, every personality, and people with every kind of story imaginable. We trust God, even when we don’t fully understand God. We value community as well as showing God’s love through our various community outreach programs, youth mission trips, and world missions as well.
We’ll see you on Sunday morning!
