In addition to doing outreach in the community, one of the things our youth look forward to the most are our summer mission trips. The trips are important because they help others, expose our youth that live in Howard County to realities outside of our area, build faith, and walk in the steps of Jesus Christ.
Appalachian Service Project (ASP)
ASP is for youth in grades 9-12 lasting one week during the summer. The youth go to an area in Appalachia to help repair homes making them “warmer, safer, and dryer.” This mission trip is hard work, but the youth learn many skills and come back transformed after helping others. Friendship House is for youth in grades 6-8 lasting one week during the summer. The youth go to Wilmington, Delaware to help with a variety of tasks from organizing clothing at the clothing bank, painting, cleaning, working at a soup kitchen, and other areas where they may need to help out. Coming in contact with those in need allows our youth to humanize an often forgotten part of the population. Th youth learn many skills and come back transformed after helping others. Want more info?
